Job Description

The Product & Solutions team are responsible for managing and optimizing core products, ecommerce solutions as well as leading the innovation and commercialization of new capabilities in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. We are looking for someone to work closely with Visa’s portfolios including banks, acquirers, payment facilitators, credit unions and fintech clients to ensure they achieve market leading growth and have the best products in market.

This role is a member of Visa’s Core Product team reporting to the Head of Core Products, AUNZPI and closely aligned with the Head of Digital Products and e Commerce Capabilities AUNZPI. This role is focused on maintaining strong relationships with key clients across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands; developing an intimate understanding of their business objectives; and providing thought provoking insights into the performance of their portfolios to help inspire and drive opportunity. Well-developed critical thinking, analytical skills and communication abilities combined with an understanding of payments will ensure that Visa is best positioned to help our clients optimize and grow revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering the strategy for core products and associated portfolio optimisation with a specific focus on priorities that include affluent, Gen Z, migrant and cross border value propositions.
  • Providing input and ultimately influencing regional and global roadmaps as they relate to core products, digital ecommerce capabilities and strategy.
  • Applying and adapting regional and global initiatives to the NZ and PI markets.
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with key clients to both understand their requirements and help them drive their business.
  • Representing Visa at client forums and discovery days with varying levels of stakeholders (from Executives to Product Managers).
  • Applying analytical expertise to inform, influence and aid the decision-making process in relation to interchange management.
  • Provide insights into the performance of portfolios while identifying treatments to improve their security, user experiences and net revenue.
  • Being proactive by identifying future impacts and issues that may affect Visa’s portfolio performance, transaction security and associated revenues.
  • Manage operational expenses and lead the delivery of research and insights that support Visa’s products and strategic priorities.
  • Leading benchmarking activity including synthesizing results and identifying opportunities for clients to enhance and optimize their portfolios.
  • Deliver product requirement changes to market in a timely manner; leading local Visa product development; and managing delivery through rules and market level waiver processes.
  • Continuously reviewing the relevance, applicability and suitability of Visa’s rules and product requirements.
  • Work closely with local, regional and global colleagues to evolve the overall product strategy, as well as provide an understanding of the market context.
  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities with regards to Value Added Services offered by Visa.
    Projects you will be a part of:
  • Client delivery that is used to shape their product strategies as they relate to affluent, Gen Z and migrant customer segments.
  • Delivery of digital and ecommerce capabilities that improve transaction security and promote a better merchant and cardholder experience- The evolution of core product tiers that provide improved flexibility through the development of innovative approaches that provide improved product management.
  • Insight and expert opinion to advance internal business decision making, market updates and strategy development.
  • Leading Strategic Priorities relating to the growth of Visa’s consumer portfolios.
  • Leading the development and go to market approach for new products, capabilities and platforms.
    This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • You have an AI first mindset and a curious approach to expanding the use and adoption of Gen-AI tools within the team.
  • You will need to be an authentic leader who is not only focused on their own personal development but also prepared to invest in the growth of their team.
  • Bachelor’s degree required with more than seven years of related product / portfolio management experience.
  • Understanding of the technical aspects of the electronic payment industry- A deep understanding of the regulatory framework in New Zealand as it relates to payments and lending.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to adapt communication styles to varying audiences (including clients and executive stakeholders).
  • The ability to analyse data, identify trends and construct thought provoking, actionable insights.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive initiatives forward.
  • Actively promote an environment of inclusion and diversity through the creation of a psychologically safe workplace.
    What will also help:
  • Extensive industry knowledge with product management experience.
  • Daily usage of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Dynamics.
  • The ability to deal with ambiguous situations when making decisions or operating in high pressure, time bound situations.
  • Demonstrate energy and positive response when tackling challenging problems and view complicated tasks as engaging or motivating.
  • An innovative mindset that is focused on applying first principal methodology to challenges and issues.
