The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Service Now Senior Developer with 6+ years of hands-on experience in Python, C#, and Full Stack Development, with secondary expertise in Service Now platform development.
This hybrid role blends core software engineering excellence with Service Now platform development and integration, supporting Visa’s SaaS-driven, enterprise-scale technology landscape. The ideal candidate is a versatile technologist who enjoys working across multiple platforms, adapting to new tools and frameworks, and contributing to high-performance, secure, and scalable solutions in and around the Service Now ecosystem.
Essential Functions:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade SaaS applications using Python, C#, JavaScript, and modern full stack technologies
- Lead and contribute to full lifecycle development including design, implementation, testing, and support
- Develop, customize, and enhance Service Now applications, workflows, and platform capabilities across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, Sec Ops, GRC, and custom applications.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions, collaborating with product owners, architects, and business stakeholders
- Build and maintain integrations between Service Now and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, and supporting technologies
- Apply strong software engineering principles to Service Now development, ensuring upgrade-safe, maintainable, and performant solutions
- Perform code reviews, design reviews, and technical mentoring to ensure quality and adherence to platform and enterprise standards
- Troubleshoot complex system issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes
- Ensure security, compliance, and governance by following platform best practices related to roles, ACLs, data access, and regulatory requirements
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and configuration guides
- Stay current with Service Now releases, SaaS platform innovations, and modern development practices, proactively recommending improvements
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, project planning, and cross-functional collaboration
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn and work on technologies beyond Service Now as business needs evolve
**This is a hybrid position.**Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
The Skills You Bring:
Core Technical Skills (Primary)
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in: Python, C# / .NET, JavaScript and Full Stack Development (frontend frameworks, backend services, APIs)
- Experience designing and building cloud-native, SaaS-based platforms
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Strong database experience (SQL and/or NoSQL)
- Service Now Skills (Secondary)
- Hands-on experience with Service Now development and configuration
Proficiency with:
- Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts
- UI Policies, Flow Designer, Workflows
- Integrations and MID Server configuration
- Familiarity with Service Now platform architecture, performance, and security best practices
- Service Now certifications (CSA, CIS in ITSM/ITOM/HRSD); CAD or CTA is a strong plus
- Experience integrating Service Now with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, Oracle, custom APIs)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- DevOps and CI/CD experience (Docker, pipelines, automation)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
