Job Description
The Director of Global Tax Technology and Transformation leads the modernization, standardization, and scalability of global tax processes through technology. This role drives transformation initiatives that leverage automation, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics to optimize tax operations, enhance compliance, and deliver actionable insights. The position collaborates with global tax leaders, Finance, IT, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a multi-year global roadmap for tax process optimization, aligned with best practices and business strategy.
- Champion scalable, standardized processes supporting growth, complexity, and global consistency.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of tax technology solutions.
- Oversee deployment of platforms for tax calculations, reporting, and documentation, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Pilot and scale automation initiatives to replace manual tasks and drive productivity.
- Design and implement scalable tax processes to reduce manual work, mitigate risk, and improve reporting quality and speed.
- Establish governance frameworks, KPIs, and tracking mechanisms for transformation projects.
- Partner with IT, Data Analytics, Finance Systems, and regional Tax teams to implement unified systems and tools.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior and executive leadership, communicating program progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead change management efforts for successful adoption of new tools and processes.
- Develop training programs and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- 10 years of progressive experience in Tax, Finance, or related fields, with a focus on process optimization and technology transformation.
- Proven track record in leading global tax technology projects, including ERP implementations, automation, and data analytics.
- Deep understanding of tax compliance, reporting, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong project leadership, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with scalable process design, governance frameworks, and KPI development.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to drive initiatives across multiple teams and regions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Information Systems, or related field, CPA or equivalent preferred.
- Strategic thinker able to translate transformation goals into executable projects.
- Influential leader who inspires others to embrace new ways of working.
- Excellent communication, business writing, and presentation skills.
- High personal accountability, ethical standards, and ability to influence without direct authority.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 170,700 to 273,200 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
