Job Description

Team Summary

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa's clients, including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operations and macroeconomics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

The VCA team within Japan provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients in Japan, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management and digital strategy. In VCA, Managed Services team plays a key role to enhance partnership with one of the largest clients for Visa’s Japan business and focuses on developing, implementing, and improving clients’ business by collaborating with them closely.

What a Consulting Manager, Managed Services at Visa:

  • Identify solutions and recommendations that address client objectives and result in performance improvement, leveraging relevant VCA methodologies, frameworks, and global best practices

Develop a fact base by undertaking client interviews and analyzing client documentation or processes

  • Analyze Visa and client data to benchmark client performance vs. industry averages to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities

  • Design and deliver compelling presentations to illustrate findings, ideas, recommendations within consulting engagements and more broadly

  • Support implementation of VCA recommendations or client initiatives (PMO), using project management and problem-solving frameworks

Create and manage timelines, ensuring key milestones are met and updating stakeholders along the way.

  • Design and support effective project structure and meeting frameworks with the client.

  • Identify and solve both client and internal challenges to help us execute efficiently and effectively.

  • Lead discussion about key issues with the client and internal stakeholders to drive the project.

  • Collaborate with data science team to leverage advanced data analytics capabilities

  • Collaborate with the hub team, broader global team, or other functional teams to obtain specific subject matter expertise as needed

However, based on the client needs and project requirements, working full time on client premises temporarily or for the mid to long term may be required.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Proven ability to develop and execute a strategy. 6 to 8 years or more of experience in strategy consulting or corporate strategy

  • Experience in building and maintaining strong client relationships

  • Ability to collaborate with partners both internally (matrix, global organization) and externally (clients and agencies)

  • Strong in operating and managing the PDCA cycle for various initiative. Creative thinking and problem solving based on data and insights

  • Excellent detail orientation, ensuring the highest level of quality/rigor in work product

  • Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to progress multiple priorities concurrently

  • Highly organized and self-motivated, results-oriented individual

  • Passion for Visa and client business, technology innovation, with high energy and intelligence

  • Possess high learning agility

  • Proficient Japanese and business level English proficiency

What will also help:

  • Good understanding of Visa and the payments eco-system

  • Experience in business planning, product development, service design and marketing within the B2C industry

  • PMP certification or experience in technical project management

  • Experience in customer experience design (using human-centered design / design thinking)
