Job Description
Providing secure and reliable payments around the world is made possible by the Global Risk Products team at Visa, focused on delivering the fraud detection and prevention solutions that enable every good transaction to be approved, every bad transaction to be declined, all with a seamless customer experience, across all payment networks. Central to this strategy is the use of AI/ML models that are trained to detect fraud in the card payment ecosystem. We are looking for an experienced product manager that is passionate about innovation and developing solutions that identify and mitigate financial fraud while maximizing approvals of legitimate transactions. In this role, you will help integrate AI into our products by shaping requirements, guiding delivery, and ensuring AI‑driven enhancements translate into measurable improvements for our clients.
The Staff Product Manager is a hands-on, execution-oriented product management role, focused on the definition and delivery of high-value products in an agile, market driven environment. You will work closely with other members of the Global Risk Products team, regional Risk Product teams, technology, and agile project teams to ensure clarity of vision, requirements, and objectives for solutions on our fraud risk platform. You will be responsible for leading the rapid design and build of our cutting-edge products. This role will focus on bringing a pipeline of product concepts at different stages of the development cycle to life.
Essential Functions:
The Staff Product Manager will be responsible for delivering, maintaining, and continuously improving a suite of risk products that support Visa and non-Visa transactions. This is what you can expect day-to-day:
- Manage the end-to-end execution of new product development (Inception, POC, MVP & Live)Partner with product teams to define product strategy and roadmap
- Design technology requirements
- Work closely with multiple technology teams across Software Development, AI / Data Science and Infrastructure
- Perform the scrum product owner role, including prioritizing features, managing the product backlog, and participating in scrum ceremonies
- Develop input to early stages of the product development lifecycle via sound market, statistical, and data analyses. This includes business model, market sizing and funding requirements
- Build strong communication with partners in Product, Technology, Predictive Analytics, Legal, Marketing, Client Services, Sales, Finance, Risk and Visa’s clients
- Champion the integration of AI and machine learning into risk products, collaborating with data science and engineering teams to drive product optimization and innovation.
- Ensure platform stability and performance by proactively monitoring product usage, managing operational issues, and driving continuous improvement through data-driven insights.
- Play an instrumental role in the Global Risk Products team, actively participating in the overall strategy design, commercialization, and execution of Risk Products.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- 7 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of relevant work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, PhD)
- 4+ years of product management experience in payment technology or risk and fraud management software is a plus
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful product strategies in a fast-paced, agile environment with demanding timelines
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interface across levels, regions, cultures, and languages and engage successfully with both specialist teams and broader business partners
- Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions, and manage uncertainty while driving change management
- Passionate about innovating and delivering truly differentiated products and user experience
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire teams and lead executive messaging
- Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and results driven
- Analytical, organized, accurate, resourceful and detail-oriented

Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 146,200.00 to 233,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
