Timberland EMEA is looking for an exceptional Associate Merchandiser on a6‑month fixed‑term contract, to join our team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

Let’s Talk about the Role

A day in the life of the Associate Merchandiser at Timberland looks a little like this.

You will play a key role in supporting the merchandising team across seasonal milestones, ensuring accuracy of product information, coordination of assortments, and alignment with brand strategy. You will manage systems, samples, seasonal reporting, and performance analysis to help build consumer‑right assortments.

You will also contribute to cross‑functional collaboration, supporting product development, pricing updates, and assortments across regions. Part of the role includes leading operational processes linked to the Eastpak project, driving coordination, planning, and consistency across global milestones.

Let’s break down that day‑in‑the‑life a bit more

  • Own accurate management of product attributes.

  • Manage HTT assortment for the assigned collection & GBA (Bags, Women Outlet + support on Mainline Women), ensuring alignment with FTW, Accessories & Marketing.

  • Define ideal merchandising mix and seasonal priorities in alignment with the merchandising lead.

  • Support the merchandising team through data entry, sample organization, and seasonal reporting.

  • Track and analyze product performance to identify bestsellers, slow movers, and consumer trends.

  • Assist in building seasonal line plans, ensuring accurate product details and updates.

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to support product development, pricing updates, and assortment alignment.

  • Manage system updates, including pricing, SKU management, and product information.

  • Support in‑season business tracking, enabling timely actions based on marketplace needs.

  • Manage ad‑hoc projects to grow autonomy in project management.

  • Present the collection to regional merchandising leads during key GTM milestones.

EASTPAK PROJECT

  • Coordinate processes and alignment across all key milestones with the Eastpak team.

  • Support the creation of the line, ensuring alignment with Timberland’s and Eastpak’s brand strategy.

  • Lead calendar coordination and sample purchasing.

  • Work closely with AMER, EMEA, APAC, the Eastpak team, and Global TBL partners to deliver market‑relevant assortments.

  • Evaluate global line, trends, and competition to identify white‑space opportunities, including revenue and margin.

  • Support pricing and lifecycle management.

  • Conduct in‑season analysis with regional merchants and planners, identifying opportunities (including OMU/SMU).

  • Lead PLM implementation for Bags and ensure ongoing Enovia maintenance.

You will achieve this by:

  • Maintaining accuracy and clarity across all merchandising systems and product information.

  • Working closely with merchandising leadership to support strategic and operational priorities.

  • Collaborating effectively with cross‑functional partners to enable smooth seasonal execution.

  • Bringing strong analytical skills to identify opportunities and improve line performance.

  • Demonstrating high attention to detail and ownership across processes and deliverables.

  • Supporting the alignment of seasonal assortments through clear communication and structured documentation.

  • Staying connected to market needs, consumer insights, and internal milestones to anticipate trends and react quickly.

Skills for Success

While formal education in merchandising, business, marketing or a related field is a plus, what matters most is a few years of experience in merchandising, product management, or a related area.

The foundational skills required are:

  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of product performance.

  • Solid knowledge of merchandising processes and product lifecycle.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across global and regional teams.

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Proficiency with merchandising systems (PLM, Enovia preferred) and Excel.

  • Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.

  • Flexibility to support seasonal workload peaks.
