Our Global Investment & Financial Services (GIFS)sits at the heart of how Vanguard delivers strong client outcomes across Europe and globally. The division brings together our client-facing, strategy, product, and investment support teams to meet evolving investor needs with transparency, innovation, and long-term value.
GIFS helps shape our investment proposition, strengthen client relationships, and influence strategic decisions across markets. It is a collaborative, fast-moving area that plays a key role in driving market growth and the future direction of the business.

Alongside these functions, GIFS also supports the global execution of investment activities by delivering technology solutions for groups such as the Investment Management Group (IMG), IMFR, Finance, and PRD. Teams work in cross-functional product groups and operate critical platforms used in major programmes such as Transfer Agent Modernization, Enterprise Investment Product Modernization (Polaris), and IMG Next Gen. Since establishing in London in 2018, GIFS has grown to 100+ crew building cloud-native solutions on AWS using Python, Java, Typescript, React, and modern engineering practices.

For interns, GIFS offers a unique view into how a global asset manager operates - from understanding investment solutions and client trends to supporting product, data, and technology initiatives. You'll work with teams passionate about improving the investor experience and shaping the future of the business.

About the Internship:

The GIFS Internship Programme is designed to give you a broad introduction to Vanguard's investment, product, and client ecosystem while building key analytical and professional skills.

You will gain insight into:

• How Vanguard develops and manages investment products
• How we support institutional, adviser, and retail investors
• How strategic decisions are informed by market analysis and client data
• How GIFS collaborates with internal partners, including Investments, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and Marketing

This programme blends hands-on project work with structured learning, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact while growing your understanding of the broader asset-management landscape.

What You'll Do:

During the 10-week programme, you will:

• Support business teams across GIFS on meaningful, value-adding projects
• Learn how investment products are structured, launched, distributed, and governed
• Build familiarity with our client segments, service models, and distribution channels
• Partner with experienced professionals to deliver work that influences real business outcomes
• Participate in training sessions focused on the asset management industry, data literacy, communication, and leadership

You'll work with your manager to define goals based on your strengths and interests - helping you shape a clear path for a potential future career within GIFS or the broader Vanguard organisation.
