Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Infrastructure and Application Security Manager to build and manage a high-performing team to support cybersecurity and mission critical business domains. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise in infrastructure and application security technologies with a passion to mentor engineering talent.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead and manage security engineering crew of 5–10 direct reports.

• Influence the design, development and optimization of infrastructure and application security solutions.

• Engineer and deliver infrastructure and application security solutions to provide holistic coverage of internet edge (e.g. WAF, Traffic mirroring, App Sec hygiene, Hardened App Stacks)

• Demonstrate engineering excellence through continuous improvements with a focus on resiliency, cost and security.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on engineering outcomes and security goals.

• Champion Agile/Scrum practices to ensure delivery excellence.

• Foster a collaborative, inclusive and growth-oriented engineering culture.

• Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

• Work closely with management to develop and implement staffing and operational plans. Effectively leverage various staffing options and manage a global workforce. Participate in the development of short and long term department goals. Monitor and report on service delivery metrics and overall performance.

• Present status, metrics, and department initiatives at meetings with management and project peers. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to provide long-term collaborations and deliver successful business outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of experience managing engineering teams in cybersecurity or mission critical business domains.

• 8+ years of experience in cloud technologies, especially Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• In depth knowledge of infrastructure and security solutions with a deep technical understanding of security principles.

• Experience with WAF, Traffic mirroring, App Sec hygiene, Hardened App Stacks.

• Understanding of compute, storage and networking concepts as applied in the cloud.

• Experience with scripting languages and a SRE mindset.

• Proven ability to mentor and grow engineering talent.

• Knowledge of Azure and Google Cloud Platform is a plus.

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred

Preferred Certifications/Degree:

• Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Information Security or Cybersecurity or CISSP

• AWS Certified Security / Advanced Networking / Solutions Architect
