Role Summary:

Manages the domestic and international corporate accounting operations. Leads a team or teams in completing the corporate accounting processes. Works with external stakeholders for compliance of financial processes. This role ensures adherence to financial recording standards, manages account reconciliations, and prepares accounting reports for internal and external use. It also oversees cost accounting, budgeting, and accounts payable/receivable functions as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

  • Oversees the accounting responsibilities for assigned legal entities, divisions, and/or functional areas. Reviews and analyzes financial activities in accordance with accounting and reporting standards, statutory reporting requirements and corporate policies. Provides financial expertise and leadership in coordinating and managing the financial closing process.

  • Leads financial reporting processes to ensure delivery of timely and accurate regulatory reports across global accounting teams. Performs analysis of legal entity profit and loss, balance sheet, and income statement.

  • Leads the recommendation, design, and implementation of internal control procedures to ensure proper recording of financial positions and prevent material errors in accounting records. Manages process changes to improve accuracy, consistency and efficiency. Documents all modifications and communicates to management and to clients.

  • Works with external auditors during the annual financial statement audit. Answers all auditor inquiries related to complex accounting topics.

  • Creates, updates, and presents training to accounting staff and management.

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ensures compliance with standards for recording financial transactions such as general ledger entries, cash payments, collections, and tax transactions to maintain accuracy in accounting records.

  • Controls and reconciles key financial accounts including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and bank accounts to guarantee data integrity.

  • Prepares and reviews accounting reports and schedules for both internal management and external compliance, including consolidation of financial statements, cash flow, and budget reports.

  • Supports budgeting and cost accounting activities, including allocation of direct and indirect costs, variance analysis, and budget preparation, to improve financial planning and operational efficiency.

  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 8 years of related work experience, with at least 5 years in financial services experience preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.Com) or master's degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Economics and Finance or related disciplines.

  • Strong skills in financial transaction recording, account reconciliation, financial reporting, internal controls, and cost accounting. Excellent leadership, communication, and process improvement skills. CPA preferred.
