Summary

The Experience, Analytics, and Operations (EAO) subdivision is the operations center for Vanguard Workplace Solutions (VWS), as well as some of our most critical divisional services. Within EAO, the Contract & Partner Management team leads the execution of sourcing and contracting strategies and the oversight of strategic third-party relationships to maximize business value, manage risk, and ensure strong contractual and financial governance.

Responsibilities

As a member of this team, the Strategic Sourcing & Contracts Lead plays a pivotal role in shaping Vanguard’s strategic supplier network by combining commercial rigor, financial insight, and contract expertise to support Workplace Solutions and its technology and operations partners. Among other responsibilities, the Strategic Sourcing & Contracts Lead will:

  • Partner with Workplace Solutions and IT stakeholders to provide governance and oversight of operational and technology services delivered by critical third-party vendors, ensuring alignment to contractual, financial, and performance expectations.

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing strategies, including financial evaluation, contract structuring, and negotiation of complex agreements with strategic vendors.

  • Apply strong financial acumen to evaluate end-to-end cost implications, pricing models, commercial terms, and financial risk exposure across vendor agreements.

  • Analyze contract amendments and change requests, assessing financial, operational, and risk impacts; provide recommendations to stakeholders to support informed decision-making.

  • Operate and continuously enhance a robust contract management program that strengthens third-party oversight, promotes consistency, and establishes best practices across Vanguard.

  • Interpret and communicate contractual requirements, obligations, and risk exposures to business and functional leaders in clear, actionable terms.

  • Establish and oversee protocols for service acceptance, performance measurement, issue escalation, and financial reconciliation, ensuring vendors deliver against contractual commitments and value expectations.

  • Develop a deep understanding of business processes and vendor delivery models, leveraging procurement and financial expertise to resolve complex contractual challenges and optimize commercial outcomes.

  • Contribute to special projects and cross-divisional initiatives that strengthen Vanguard’s sourcing, vendor management, and financial governance capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience required.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred

  • Demonstrated success in managing complex vendor relationships required

  • Strong financial acumen required
