United Talent Agency (UTA) is seeking an Assistant to a Partner in the Publishing department in our New York office. We are looking for a highly organized and motivated individual with exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position with benefits and will pay $23.00 - $27.00 per hour.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide administrative support, including managing heavy phones, calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.

• Manage expenses and maintain accurate records using company systems and software.

• File and manage all client and project files to ensure all folders are up to date, including extensive rights grids.

• Handle incoming referrals and screen materials.

• Work closely with writers and agents in developing creative proposals and edits.

What You Need:

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Prior experience in publishing is required; experience with foreign rights and/or literary estates is a plus.

• Must be a voracious reader.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to review and understand contracts strongly preferred, or a demonstrated willingness to learn.

• Ability to liaise with key senior-level executives, external clients, and partners

• Capable of managing several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.

• Excellent written communication skills, with critical attention to detail.

• A can-do, positive attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile.

• Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook, Word, and internet research.
