This position qualifies for a $2500.00 sign-on bonus with 1-year work commitment!Responsibilities:
· Demonstrates skills, competencies, and judgment necessary to provide patient care in any environment; using educational resources that are required or made available.
· Collaborates with PHRN and Paramedic to care for critically ill or injured patients in adherence with established protocols and standards of care; assessing online medical command or other resources when appropriate.
· Maintains and ensures adequate vehicle operation including proper fuel, fluid levels, lights, sirens, radio, cellular phone functioning. Works with Regional Medical Manager to ensure all mechanical deficiencies are corrected.
· Ensures patient and family confidentiality and dignity at all times.
· Adheres to the current uniform policy.
· Performs all assigned duties, including daily, weekly, monthly, or other duties assigned by the base site manager, including (but not limited to):
· Performs daily equipment check (vehicle, medications)
· Participates in shift report from off going crew
· Maintains clean patient environment as well as crew quarters
· Responds promptly and efficiently to all requests for service.
· Ensures safe operation of patient laden stretcher employing appropriate stretcher discipline at all times. Maintains safe loading, unloading, adjustment of head of stretcher, and stretcher movement.
· Completes all official documentation in a timely manner such as payroll, expense reports, orientation forms, etc.
· Adheres to rules for scheduling, including schedule requests, minimum time, and availability.
· Reflects a positive attitude to the customer in a high stress environment at all times, with a clear understanding of who the customer is.
· Demonstrates the ability to establish a rapport with customers; including the ability to create and sustain a positive relationship; regardless of circumstances, environment, or patient presentation.
· Reports injuries and completes the appropriate documentation, no matter how minor, to a supervisor in a timely manner.
· Reports for work well rested and fit for duty. Adhering to the drug and alcohol policy at all times. including prescription and/or over the counter medicine use.
· Maintains fitness for duty by adhering to all employee health requirements, including maximum weight, hearing conservation program, and required medical screenings.
· Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
- 1 year EMT experience.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
- 1 professional contribution selected from department, hospital or system goals, and approved by your Manager.
- Previous ambulance and/or hospital experience preferred.
- Reliable transportation and be willing to travel to any STAT Med Evac base site as assigned.
- Must be able to successfully complete the prescribed orientation program, including classroom, clinical rotations, educational competencies, and on the job training.
- Must work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Advanced Emergency Medical Technician OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Emergency Medical Technician
- Paramedic OR Paramedic
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Driver's License
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
