Journeyman 1 - Plumber

**UPMC Western Maryland is looking for a full-time Journeyman I-Plumber to support our Maintenance department!This is a Monday-Friday, primarily dayshift position. Could require some on-call shifts.Candidates will be placed in appropriate job title/pay rate based on education/experience as part of the career ladder. Pay rates shown are for Journeyman I-Plumber job title.
Responsibilities:

• Estimate costs of installations and repair work, including requisition of material, as needed.
• Fit valves, couplings and other plumbing devices by screwing, bolting or soldering and seal connections with joint compounds, gaskets or caulking by using appropriate tools.
• Inspect systems for pressure loss and leaks.
• Install, repair and maintain various types of pipe assemblies, plumbing fixtures and piping systems from blueprints and sketches, including but not limited to chilled water, heating hot water and medical gas.
• Investigate and perform system outages.
• Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
• Mark, cut and bend pipe to meet specifications by using hacksaw, pipe cutter or cutting machine.
• Perform all work following infection control procedures.
• Prepare pipe for installation such as cutting, threading, removing burrs, grooving and bending.
• Record work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis.

High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited plumbing apprenticeship program required OR equivalent on the job training and/or military experience will be considered. Two additional years plumbing experience working in a healthcare or commercial environment.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Driver's License
• Journeyman Plumber OR Master Plumber License (must meet applicable local codes)
