About the Role
At Uber, we're reimagining how the world moves - and that starts with the technology and infrastructure powering our operations. In this role, you will support the sourcing of networking equipment such as routers, switches, and access points for Self-Driving Vehicle (SDV) depots across the US&C, EMEA and APAC regions.
You'll partner with cross-functional teams including Global IT Builds, SDV Engineering, Finance, Legal and Operation teams to identify sourcing opportunities, drive supplier negotiations, and deliver reliable, cost-efficient network infrastructure that powers Uber's future of autonomous mobility.
This is a REMOTE position.
The standard shift timing for this role is
6: 00 PM to 2:00 AM IST.
What the Candidate Will Do:
- Lead sourcing activities for network hardware (routers, switches, access points, cabling, and related components) across multiple global regions.
- Collaborate with Global IT Builds and SDV Engineering teams to translate business and technical requirements into sourcing strategies. Manage supplier relationships to ensure top-tier performance, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
- Drive the RFI/RFP/RFQ process, analyze supplier proposals, and recommend optimal sourcing solutions. Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and contract conditions aligned with Uber's global procurement standards.
- Partner with internal stakeholders on purchase orders, vendor onboarding, and invoice management. Support cost optimization initiatives and continuously identify process improvements.
- Stay current on market trends, emerging technologies, and supplier innovations in the networking hardware space.
What the Candidate Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, operations or supply chain management, ideally within IT hardware or networking categories.
- Solid understanding of network hardware such as routers, switches, and access points,etc.
- Proven experience managing RFIs/RFPs/RFQs, supplier negotiations, and contracts.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Workspace, and procurement tools (e.g., Coupa, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in global or regional sourcing across multiple geographies.
- Familiarity with major network hardware OEMs and distributors (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, ZPE, Arista, etc.).
- Background in technology, automotive, or autonomous vehicle industries.
- Knowledge of contract management and supplier performance frameworks.
- Professional certification such as CSCP, CPSM, or PMP.
- Experience in using GenAI tools and applications to improve sourcing efficiency.
