About Us
Uber is changing how people think about transportation, part of the logistical fabric of 600+ cities - giving people what they want when they want it.
Size: 10000+ employees
Industry: Technology
About the Role
The automotive and transportation industries are rapidly evolving, reshaping the car rental landscape. As part of Uber's Consumer Vehicles team, this role focuses on building and leading a three-sided car rental marketplace by differentiating our value proposition for vehicle suppliers-including rental car companies, car-share operators, OEMs, and dealerships.
While Uber's large customer base is a powerful source of demand, our most successful partnerships extend far beyond being a marketing channel. We provide solutions that help suppliers grow their businesses, expand into new categories and markets, and optimize operations. Together, we create opportunities for reinvestment and shared success-positioning Uber as the #1 rental marketplace suppliers want to work with, the #1 place consumers go to rent cars, and the best platform for drivers.
The Car Delivery business line sits at the forefront of this value proposition, offering innovative solutions to rental car companies and fleet operators. As part of this team, you'll help build and scale services that enable suppliers to request drivers on the Uber platform for vehicle delivery, repositioning, and essential operational tasks such as servicing, cleaning, and refueling.
As a member of the CV team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our on-demand vehicle delivery marketplace. You'll ensure seamless vehicle access for customers, with a focus on convenience, speed, and maintaining balance across the three sides of the marketplace-earners, suppliers, and customers.
This role blends strategic thinking with operational rigor, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners to unlock value at scale. You'll use data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities, improve marketplace efficiency, and build long-term partnerships that benefit all stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Drive Operational Excellence: Lead initiatives that improve the efficiency of our on-demand vehicle delivery marketplace-balancing supply and demand, reducing delivery times, and ensuring seamless vehicle access for customers
- Leverage Data for Impact: Analyze complex data sets to uncover insights that shape strategic decisions. Use these insights to optimize marketplace performance, identify growth opportunities, and strengthen operational effectiveness
- Ensure Marketplace Balance: Manage the three-sided marketplace-earners, suppliers, and customers-to deliver a consistent, reliable experience and meet key performance objectives such as on-time delivery and overall reliability
- Build and Scale Supplier Relationships: Collaborate with rental car companies, dealerships, and fleet managers to deepen partnerships, expand our offerings, improve their operational efficiency, and drive long-term, mutually beneficial outcomes
- Strategic Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Tech, Operations, Legal, and Finance to design and execute innovative solutions aligned with Uber's business objectives and long-term Consumer Vehicles strategy
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience in operations, business consulting, finance, or a similar analytical role.
- Proven track record of operational execution and strong project management skills across functions
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage both internal and external stakeholders, effectively.
- Ability to independently analyze data and develop insights to support critical business decisions.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing partnerships or external stakeholders
- Expertise in marketplace dynamics, pricing strategies, and operational optimization.
- Strong ability to drive strategic alignment and build consensus across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated success in fostering collaboration and enabling effective teamwork on complex projects.
- Experience working on global projects or in an international setting.
