About Us

Uber is changing how people think about transportation, part of the logistical fabric of 600+ cities - giving people what they want when they want it.
Size: 10000+ employees

Industry: Technology

About the Role:

Are you excited about improving customer experiences and using technology to solve complex marketplace challenges?

We're looking for an Operations Manager to help shape global fulfillment strategies for Uber's Grocery & Retail business. In this role, you'll focus on customer engagement and retention-digging into the root causes behind poor experiences and turning insights into meaningful action.

You'll partner closely with Product, Regional Operations, Data Science, and Marketplace teams to ensure our fulfillment systems work reliably and consistently. Your work will help customers get exactly what they ordered, on time, every time.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys using SQL to uncover insights, loves creative problem-solving, and communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical partners.

We're looking for a strategic, systems-minded problem solver who thrives in complex environments and brings the technical fluency to navigate evolving tools and processes. You'll translate product understanding into actionable insights and influence global teams to drive impact at scale.

What You'll Do Champion Fulfillment, Quality, and Reliability- Monitor the performance of key fulfillment metrics (e.g., found rate, cancellations, defect rate, substitutions, shopper accuracy).

  • Translate marketplace signals into insights that explain customer behavior, retention patterns, and experience drivers.
  • Identify emerging issues across markets and proactively recommend actions that protect the customer experience.

Generate Insights That Drive Engagement & Retention- Use SQL to uncover meaningful insights about marketplace reliability, user behavior, and merchant performance.

  • Combine quantitative analysis with qualitative inputs (support tickets, user feedback, competitive insights) to build a complete picture of customer pain points.
  • Turn insights into actionable recommendations that shape product priorities and regional strategies.

Influence Stakeholders & Drive Regional Execution- Partner with regional Grocery/Retail Operations teams to design and execute initiatives that improve accuracy, fulfillment reliability, and customer engagement.

  • Build and maintain clear communication tools (dashboards, weekly insights, narratives) to align Product, Operations, and Marketplace teams.
  • Support global reliability programs, ensuring consistent execution and measurable impact across regions.

What You'll Need

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Strategy, Operations, Analytics, Consulting, Marketplace Operations, Product Operations, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL (Python is a plus).
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, structured insights that influence decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and tailor messages to diverse audiences.
  • English proficiency is a must.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills; comfortable driving alignment without direct authority.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and a problem-solving mindset-comfortable operating amid ambiguity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Uber's mission is to reimagine the way the world moves for the better. Here, bold ideas create real-world impact, challenges drive growth, and speed fuelds progress. What moves us, moves the world - let's move it forward, together.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time. Please speak with your recruiter to better understand in-office expectations for this role.

Accommodations may be available based on religious and/or medical conditions, or as required by applicable law. To request an accommodation, please reach out to accommodations@uber.com.
