Job Description:

About The Role and What You'll Need:

About our team
Our Operations team operates where Uber's technology meets the real world.

  • We own the local business and set and execute the strategy for our markets in Northern Europe
  • Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Luxembourg, and Denmark. At the heart of what we do in Operations is solving problems. We use data, operational levers, and strategic product, process, and campaign launches to grow the business and ensure that Uber offers the most preferred, reliable, and convenient service across Northern Europe, anytime and anywhere.

What you'll do:
This role sits in the Driver team within our Operations group. The Driver team is responsible for growing our driver base and continuously improving the platform experience for our customers.

You will be primarily responsible for owning operations and driving projects which promote driver growth - campaigns, tactics, incentive structures, and any other wider initiatives you can establish to attract Drivers to the platform. Combined, delivering step-changes in these areas aims to directly impact accelerated growth and competitiveness in the region - and we need a profile with strong 'go get it' to help us drive this topic forward.

These are some of the activities you can expect in your day-to-day:

  • Drive End-to-End Growth: Own the strategy and execution for scaling driver supply and commercial fleets. You aren't just hitting targets; you are identifying untapped channels and ambitiously pursuing them.- Optimize the Onboarding Machine: Relentlessly improve the driver sign-up experience. This means getting your hands dirty-from proactive outreach to redesigning campaign structures and hacking together tooling improvements to remove friction.- Operational "Fixer" & Builder: Act as a high-velocity problem solver. When a process breaks or a metric dips, you dive in, diagnose the root cause, and fix it. You thrive in the "grey area" where there isn't a playbook, acting with the scrappiness of a business owner.- Scale Through Automation: Identify manual bottlenecks and "hustle" them into automated workflows. You should be obsessed with finding more efficient ways to do more with less.- Command the Funnel: Own the driver growth pipeline through rigorous analytics. You don't just "monitor" data; you hunt for insights that explain underperformance and pivot tactics in real-time to course-correct.- Cross-Functional Interface: Navigate complex landscapes by collaborating with Legal, Tax, and Product teams. You are the "glue" that ensures your initiatives move from idea to rollout in an aligned, and sustainable manner.
    What you'll need:

Preferred qualifications

  • Relevant experience: You have previous, relevant professional experience (e.g. launching new products or processes, managing or executing projects, or solving business problems with data, etc.). Bonus if this is in operational, rapidly scaling, ambiguous environments.
  • ideally where you've demonstrated strong business ownership to drive through initiatives to conclusion.
  • Data-savvy: You are comfortable working with data sets using Excel, Google Sheets, etc. and connecting metrics to the real world. Through data, you can validate issues, derive actionable insights, and generate recommendations. Fluency in SQL is a plus (prior knowledge of SQL is not required but you will be expected to learn it ASAP once you join), and a financial or analytical background would be valuable in this role.
  • Project management: You enjoy working on a variety of topics, are proactive, structured, and action-oriented
  • Problem solving: You like to solve problems - you can break down problems in a structured manner and use creativity, data-backed insights, and critical thinking to solve them
  • Action-focused: You can work in a fast paced environment where your work will be focused on taking action and delivering tangible impact to the business (e.g. increasing the increasing the number of supply hours on the platform, reducing the number of churned drivers, getting more people to try new products)
  • Hard language requirement: Professional fluency in English and one of our region's local languages: Dutch, Swedish, French, Finnish, Norwegian, or Danish

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  • Growth and operational mindset: You are a highly proactive learner with a "can-do" attitude / high ownership mindset - you can pick up skills and knowledge quickly, are excited to become the expert on topics within the team, and are energised by finding new ways to drive the business forward / advocate for growth.
  • Forecasting experience: background in forecasting, financial planning or budgeting would be relevant.
  • Communication: You have clear communication skills (verbal and written) to deliver insights and recommendations and to work with other team members
  • Collaboration: You can collaborate and coordinate well with a mix of cross-functional teams to move projects and launches forwards
  • Business acumen: You can prioritize effectively, recognize when business needs shift, and pivot quickly in response
