About the Role

The mission of the Merchant team is to help merchants realize their full potential on Uber Eats, from onboarding to building a success business. As a Scientist on this team, you will own complex projects from end-to-end, including understanding product performance, running marketplace experiments, building models, and driving tradeoff decisions using data.

• What You'll Do

• Generate product insights through analysis to influence decisions and what / how the team builds.

• Design and analyze experiments to help the team learn, ship, and measure impact.

• Lead product measurement for the team, including metrics design, implementation, and goal setting.

• Scale data visibility and access through dashboards or other tools.

• Basic Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.

• Minimum 5 years of industry experience as a Data Scientist or equivalent role (3+ if holding a Ph.D.)

• Expertise in experimental design and statistical analysis for A/B testing and causal inference.

• Proficiency in R or Python for exploratory data analysis and modeling.

• Strong analytical skills, with experience extracting user behavior insights from large datasets.

• Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, Matplotlib).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Marketplace experimentation experience within a Delivery or Ecommerce business.

• 6+ years of industry experience.

• Proficiency in causal inference.

• For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD**$216,000 per year**

• USD**$240,000 per year**.
