About the Role:

This is a high visibility and impact strategy and business operations role to shape and grow Uber's financial services business with strong initiatives mapped to Uber's Global Commerce strategy in the Asia Pacific region. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Financial Business Group, APAC.

The Impact You'll Have:

  • You will own the end-to-end development and lifecycle management of new spender financial products across APAC, with full accountability from initial concept through post-launch optimization.
  • This includes building robust business cases informed by market and financial analysis; leading discovery through in-depth stakeholder interviews, partner discussions, and voice-of-customer research to identify unmet user needs; and developing detailed cost models, forecasts, and investment plans to ensure sustainable unit economics.
  • You will drive the end-to-end sourcing process with our respective cross-functional teams, including RFI/RFP development, partner evaluation, commercial negotiations, and governance approvals, while working closely with legal, risk, compliance, and regional teams to meet local regulatory requirements.
  • In parallel, you will define and execute go-to-market and marketing strategies, establish feedback loops to measure adoption, engagement, and satisfaction, and lead post-launch governance to monitor performance, manage partners, mitigate risk, and continuously iterate on product features and customer experience. The portfolio of products includes co-branded credit cards, pay-later solutions, and digital wallet offerings tailored to diverse APAC markets.

The Experience You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years experience within banking, e-commerce and/or consulting in strategy or operations with deep knowledge in issuing and cards preferred.
  • You're a self-starter and take initiative to seize opportunities: The FBG team is evolving every day and requires highly motivated individuals that thrive in a fast-paced environment, have high adaptability to change and the ability to execute quickly (pivoting from long-term thinking to immediate action tactical responses).
  • High-energy and motivational leader to work with strong individual contributors with a strong sense of ownership and bias for action.
  • Advanced collaboration and influencing skills built from experience of navigating a global matrix organisation and building deep, trust-based relationships with a diverse stakeholder set including Global Commerce, Mobility and Delivery leadership in a constantly changing, rapid growth environment with tight deadlines.
  • Passion for solving ambiguous and complex problems - experience with demonstrating quantitative and qualitative sources to translate complex problems into clear, concise, and practical solutions. You need to be structured and have attention to detail.
  • Unparalleled business judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly establish the highest value priorities and develop a strategy to pursue them.
  • Based in Tokyo, Japan with flexibility to travel when required across geographies.
  • SQL knowledge is preferred.
