About the Role
The City Success mission is to deliver on our plan commitments while ensuring a healthy, well-balanced marketplace. The team manages the full P&L across our cities, drives pricing and marketplace levers, and executes strategic actions that guarantee great service for both riders and drivers. With a north star of sustainable growth and operational excellence, City Success ensures that demand and supply remain aligned so that the business can perform today, and thrive tomorrow.
Aligning with other teams for day-to-day executions, City Success provides the analytical rigor, strategic guidance, and marketplace stewardship needed to maintain reliable service quality and financial discipline. The team plays a central role in shaping how each city performs, ensuring we meet corporate expectations without compromising customer experience.
-
What You'll Do
-
Steer Marketplace Performance: Own key pricing, supply, and demand levers to ensure cities hit their Plan commitments while maintaining strong service quality for both riders and drivers.
-
Drive High-Impact Projects: Lead initiatives that improve marketplace health, optimize economics, or unlock operational efficiencies taking work from analysis to execution with clear accountability.
-
Enable Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with Operations, Comm Ops, Safety, Policy, and other teams to coordinate city-level actions, resolve trade-offs, and ensure cohesive execution across the business.
-
Provide Analytical & Strategic Guidance: Deliver insights, recommendations, and structured problem-solving to help leadership prioritize decisions that strengthen profitability and marketplace reliability.
-
Support Knowledge Sharing: Contribute expertise on marketplace dynamics, P&L management, and pricing frameworks, helping raise the bar for peers and developing junior team members through thought partnership.
-
Translate Complexity Into Action: Break down ambiguous operational or marketplace challenges into clear frameworks, next steps, and measurable outcomes that move the business forward.
-
What You'll Need
-
Marketplace & Financial Judgment: Able to assess trade-offs across demand, supply, and economics; anticipate downstream marketplace impacts; and prioritize actions that protect both service quality and P&L performance.
-
Bias for Execution: Comfortable making calibrated decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and driving pricing or marketplace levers forward with incomplete data when needed.
-
Influence Without Authority: Builds trust with cross-functional stakeholders through clear reasoning, strong analytical grounding, and reliable follow-through-enabling alignment on city-level strategies and actions.
-
Operational Team Mindset: Maintains high standards while fostering a cooperative, solutions-oriented environment that supports healthy marketplace operations and strong rider/driver experiences.
-
English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in Data Analytics with spreadsheets as a MUST and Coding (SQL mainly) as a preferred/nice-to-have.
- Experience managing P&Ls while great knowledge of marketplaces (demand & supply).
- As city owners, Stakeholder management is a key skill for the role.
