About the Role

Uber's Insur Tech team is responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences for Consumers, Earners and 3rd parties, in situations when things are not going as intended, such as in the case of accidents. We also deliver product experiences for customer support teams and partner insurance carriers to provide quick and seamless handling of insurance claims.

As the Lead PM (can consider GPM) and Head of Product for the Insur Tech team, you will manage the product team responsible for transforming the end to end insurance claims reporting and handling experience, and drive step change reduction in the biggest cost for the mobility business. You will guide your team in driving innovative data-driven product experiences in close partnership with data science & operations teams.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Develop, articulate and lead a visionary product strategy for the future of Insur Tech.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science and design leadership to deliver high-quality, well-designed products that meet user needs and exceed business objectives.
  • Guide the product team to work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements (PRDs), prioritize features, and deliver high-quality products that meet user needs and drive business objectives.
  • Be incredibly truth-seeking. Collect whatever data is necessary to inform product direction, whether in the form of competitive intel, customer behavior or other business metrics. Solicit and welcome critical feedback.
  • Make tradeoff decisions based on technical and business insights and experimentation.
  • Monitor and measure launched products and feed insights back into product development process to drive growth.
  • Clearly communicate product plans, benefits and results, as appropriate, to a spectrum of audiences, from internal stakeholders to Uber executives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8+ years experience as a Technical Product Manager, specifically having led 0 to 1 product launches.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering degree.
  • Deep technical experience building complex ML products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Computer Science.

  • Experience with insurance and actuarial concepts (prefer exceptional product fundamentals over domain expertise).

  • Data-driven decision-making ability and a "driver" personality for pushing toward clarity and balancing the need for great collaboration.

  • High attention to detail and proven track record to multi-task and manage competing priorities.

  • Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to thrive in cross-functional environments and work backward from the needs of your customers to build solutions that scale.
