About the Role:
The APAC Strategy & Planning (S&P) team develops, implements and oversees the strategy of our Uber Eats businesses across the APAC region.As the Head of S&P for Japan, you will play a critical role in driving the strategy of one of our largest global markets, in close partnership with Japan's most senior leaders in our Delivery business.
Your Impact in Role:
- Define long term strategy: Build the business's short and long-term growth strategy, working closely with Japan's delivery leadership team to translate our global and Japan ambition into clear, actionable objectives across the business.2. Lead a team: Lead a fantastic team of strategists in driving Japan's business performance by shaping the scope of key projects and providing thoughtful coaching3. Manage critical programs: Bring a strong sense of self-ownership to drive prioritisation and lead cross-functional groups to decisions on strategically significant questions.
You'll do this by building strong relationships with colleagues at the Japan, APAC and global level, across a variety of functions.4. Lead business governance: Establish and manage governance and accountability models to ensure transparency on business performance and execution of key initiatives ensuring teams are on track to achieve goals, making you the go-to person for key initiatives.5. Incubate critical projects: Design and incubate critical initiatives necessary to unlock growth and sustain business performance, to deliver on local, regional and global priorities.

You will lead a team as well as drive zero-to-one opportunities and challenges in mission critical areas for our Japan Delivery business.We are looking for a candidate with a true owner's mentality who can think big and drive execution from start to finish.
The Experience You'll Bring:
Experience: Extensive professional experience in functions such as strategy, business intelligence, strategic finance, and operations, with a proven record of delivering measurable business impact.We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
- Business acumen and strategic thinking: Ability to deeply understand competitive dynamics, customer experience and internal context, and integrate these factors into high impact strategic plans at both the local and regional level.
- Team leadership: Proven people leadership experience, being able to coach and empower small high-performing teams working on ambiguous scope areas, while motivating through reinforcing a shared vision.
- Stakeholder management: A natural ability to build healthy working relationships with cross-functional teams. You do this through bringing deep thought leadership, the ability to influence others, and through actively seeking diverse opinions.
- Communication: Fluency in English, and proven ability to synthesise complex analysis into insights and narratives that convey ideas persuasively, both verbally and in writing.
- Executional excellence & adaptability: Ability to effectively manage, prioritise, and delegate tasks for complex, highly visible initiatives. You can deliver results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment while maintaining high-quality work standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional fluency in Japanese to engage with local stakeholders and understand local market context and dynamics.
- Experience in the delivery, logistics, or consumer-tech industry within the APAC region.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity.
