Join Our Team in the Prepared Foods Division as an Cost Analyst!Summary: The Cost Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost analysis for the plant. This position prepares daily, weekly, and monthly production cost reports, assists with budgeting and forecasting, and supports plant leadership with financial insights that drive operational performance. The role also ensures compliance with Tyson Foods’ accounting policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly production cost reports.
- Support the plant self-audit program, including fixed asset and inventory reviews.
- Assist with annual operating and capital budgets.
- Serve as backup for payroll processing and controller-related weekly tasks.
- Review financial data and explain spending and cost variances.
- Develop and maintain spreadsheets and reports for management and ad-hoc requests.
- Support cost savings and efficiency projects through data analysis.
- Maintain accurate standard costing, including bills of materials (BOMs) and production standards.
- Participate in month-end close, financial forecasts, and annual planning.
- Provide cost estimates and financial analysis for new products and process improvements.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or another related field preferred. Combination of work experience and education may be considered.
Experience:
- Previous experience in Finance and/or Cost Accounting in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Knowledgeable in the areas of GAAP, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets, General Ledger Accounting, Payroll, and SOX.
Computer skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of SAP ERP systems.
Special skills:
- Strong leadership and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to new working environments.
