Job Details:

This position adds value to the company’s bottom line by managing all materials used at a complex, including all aspects of their usage. The role is responsible for controlling required parts inventories, making inventory adjustments as needed. Organize warehouse for most efficient storage and delivery of parts. Additionally, this position includes managing warehouse team members to ensure efficient handling, storage, inventory control and flow of materials.

PROCEDURE:

  • Maintain material inventory control
  • Oversee Supply Chain Logistics for inbound and outbound parts.
  • Manage the procurement of goods and services
  • Provide all required information for other departments
  • Plan and maintain operational budget
  • Maintain and input required data into SAP, BOM, MMG related to materials purchase, receipt, and material issues
  • Minimize or eliminate variances
  • Arrange and supervise personnel managing inventories, including warehouse team members
  • Establish and maintain most effective stocking levels
  • Maintain visibility and the ability to report and track freight expenses
  • Arrange for and schedule freight; coordinate shipments with inventory management, production scheduling, and plant maintenance needs to achieve an economic order quantity
  • Maintain business relationships with suppliers
  • Order material quantities that meet production needs
  • Manage the Purchase to Pay process
  • Organize, coordinate, track, and sometimes manage projects
  • Cooperate and support all Corporate Purchasing policies
  • Coordinate with all levels of management
  • Work daily to improve materials cost efficiency
  • Evaluate new products and discuss new processes
  • Coordinate priorities, time frames, changes plant management
  • Ensure all shipping locations receive accurate shipping instructions
  • Provide leadership, training, and performance management for warehouse team members to maintain operational excellence and safety standards
  • Some weekend work may be required
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience: 3+ years of supervisory experience and inventory management is preferred
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office applications, Tyson business computer systems, SAP, MMG, BOM, and PPS preferred
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal, math, and written skills required
  • Travel: 1-12+ trips per year

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in a work environment with varying temperatures
  • Occasional lifting of 50 lbs
  • Standing, walking, and performing inventory tasks for extended periods

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Exposure to extreme cold inside and outside, heat, noise, odors, electrical hazards, risk of falls and strains
  • Working alone and with others
