Summary:

The Senior Accounting role provides the opportunity to join Tyson Foods’ Enablement Accounting team under the direction of an Accounting Manager. This position supports the design, execution, and continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and reporting capabilities that enable timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant financial information for management and business partners. The role requires strong judgment in time-sensitive decision-making, the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, and success in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Key responsibilities include coordinating accounting functions and financial systems, strengthening internal controls, supporting process standardization and automation initiatives, and partnering cross-functionally to ensure alignment with Tyson Foods’ accounting policies, practices, and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

This role will include analysis and review of expenditures; Post Audits of Strategic direction and opportunity analysis; Review and maintain appropriate accounting controls; attendance and active participation at all weekly review and strategy meetings; support quarterly and periodic close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses; assist with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned. Must solve problems, collaborate, and work well under pressure. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.

Experience: 3+ years’ accounting experience required.

Computer Skills: Requires standard computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office apps. SAP & Power Bi experience will be a plus. Strong Excel skills preferred.

Communication Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal skills.

Special Skills: Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment; using good judgement to complete tasks; ability to set priorities and coordinate with others.

Supervisory: None.

Travel: Minimal.
