Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Risk Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated** Director of Consumer Credit Risk and Fraud Management.**
The primary responsibility is to leadthe Originations Credit Strategy, Portfolio Reporting/Analytics, Collections Decisioning/Analytics, and Fraud Strategy functions for TMCC’s consumer lending portfolio. Managers for each of these functional areas report to the Director.
Reporting to the Chief Credit Officer, a successful candidate in this role with bring a strong background of relevant experience in credit and fraud risk management, deep expertise in statistical models and model ownership best practices, demonstrated ability to lead teams of risk and analytics professionals by generating actionable and value adding insights, and excellent relationship management skills to ensure effectiveness in working with leaders in Sales/Credit, Service Operations, Legal/Compliance, Data Science, Pricing/Finance, and Treasury.
What you’ll be doing

Origination Credit Strategy responsibilities include management of credit decisioning scorecards for lease and loan applications, auto-decisioning policy and automation roadmap, origination asset quality/KPI monitoring, risk appetite framework management, underwriting guidelines, and evaluation of new product risk costs (e.g. pre-approvals,).

Portfolio Reporting/Analytics responsibilities include managing a wide-range of dashboards and reporting on consumer credit risk and fraud KPIs at various frequencies (daily, weekly, monthly) and for various users (executive, management, analyst) to ensure deviations in trends or expectations are identified quickly, diagnosed, and decisions can be rendered on potential changes to strategy, policy, and/or guidelines.

Collections Decisioning/Analytics responsibilities include management of behavioral model scoring, recommended treatments for delinquent accounts, testing new collections treatment strategies (loss mitigation and efficiency), and impact analysis of changes in policy, strategy, and/or regulatory rules. This role will also identify opportunities to reduce loss severity through various strategies and internal/external data resources.

Fraud Strategy responsibilities include management of fraud strategy in originations, loss mitigation, and KPIs/SLAs from our Fraud Control team and vendors to mitigate fraud impacts to TMCC. This role oversees budget, target setting, updates and recommendations to the Enterprise Fraud Management team, which includes membership from various teams across TMCC and TFSB supporting overall enterprise fraud management.

Managing a range of both large scale analytical/modeling projects and implementations as well as reacting quickly to changing dynamics and trends

Managing team budget, resources/prioritization, target/goal achievement, and recruiting/retaining/developing department team members
-
Leading presentations and distilling complex analyses into clear summaries, visualizations, and actionable recommendations for Executive leadership team and Executive Committees
What you bring

Bachelor’s degree in quantitative or a related field
-
5+ years of experience in Credit Strategy Originations and Fraud Risk Management in financial services
-
Experience in statistical models and model ownership best practices
-
2+ years of experience in a leadership role with demonstrated experience managing teams of risk and analytics professionals
-
Track record of effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders, external partners, and executive management
-
Travel up to 10%
