Who we're looking for
Toyota Financial Services (TFS) Enterprise Platforms team is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Lead Python Developer to drive the design and implementation of scalable, innovative platform solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with product owners and architects to bring TFS platforms to life, ensuring they are robust, reusable, and aligned with business needs. Reporting to the Platform Lead, you will play a key role in advancing TFS’s technology capabilities to empower data and application teams across the enterprise.
What you'll be doing
As the Lead Python Developer, you will lead a dynamic team and portfolio of projects that deliver impactful platform solutions. Your typical day will involve designing reusable Python frameworks, automating workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into scalable, high-quality technical solutions. Success means enabling data teams to accelerate delivery while maintaining enterprise standards for security, scalability, and maintainability.

Lead the development of reusable Python frameworks, templates, and automation tools that support enterprise-wide platform needs.

Collaborate with product owners, data engineering, and application teams to prioritize and deliver scalable solutions.

Drive architecture decisions through a structured process ensuring stakeholder alignment and technical excellence.

Build and enhance foundational capabilities for data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, data validation, and analytics applications.

Develop integrations with data storage systems, messaging platforms, and orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Prefect.

Continuously improve frameworks and processes to boost delivery speed and quality across teams.

Mentor engineers on best practices in Python development, automation, and cloud-native deployment.

Partner with leadership to attract, hire, and retain top Python and data engineering talent.

Stay ahead of technology trends, share knowledge, and contribute to the engineering community internally and externally.

Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards and contribute to their evolution.
What you bring
-
Advanced Python development experience focused on building reusable frameworks and libraries for data engineering and applications.
-
Deep expertise in data ingestion, transformation, pipeline development (ETL/ELT), and data validation frameworks.

Strong experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, data lakes, cloud storage, and integration with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Prefect.

Proficiency in APIs, real-time streaming, microservices architectures, and automation of deployment/testing workflows.
-
Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms such as AWS.

Proven ability to deliver scalable, cloud-native data solutions addressing logging, testing, security, and instrumentation.

Experience with version control best practices including branching, merging, and code reviews.
Added bonus if you have

Experience with streaming and integration services like Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or API infrastructure such as Mulesoft or Apigee.
