Who we’re looking for
Toyota is looking for team members who are passionate about technology and interested in joining a collaborative and highly motivated team as Principal Engineer-Microsoft 365 Platform Engineering.
The primary responsibility of this role is to architect, manage, and optimize Microsoft M365 modern enterprise collaboration, AI capabilities, and digital productivity platforms. You’ll drive strategic initiatives, ensure robust system standards, and champion user adoption and experience across digital tools. The person in this role will join the End User Experience & On Prem Infrastructure team to empower users with seamless technology and robust on-prem infrastructure for enhanced productivity and collaboration.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic roadmaps for productivity and collaboration platforms—including Microsoft M365 and AI capabilities, by aligning technology initiatives with evolving business objectives, ensuring each platform supports organizational priorities and drives measurable outcomes.
- Deliver projects from initial planning through successful completion by coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines and resources, proactively addressing risks, and ensuring all key milestones and business objectives are achieved efficiently.
- Thoroughly document current and future system standards and processes, while regularly creating and updating detailed system architecture diagrams to ensure clarity, scalability, and effective communication across teams.
- Proactively lead ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing user experience, driving cost efficiencies, and optimizing system performance by consistently leveraging key KPIs to deliver measurable, impactful results across the organization.
- Manage change processes in alignment with ITIL best practices by coordinating stakeholder engagement, communications, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure smooth transitions and no disruption to business operations.
- Serve as a Product Owner for the Productivity Tools Scrum team by providing leadership, supporting agile delivery processes, and ensuring ongoing team effectiveness and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Develop compelling, data-driven business cases that clearly articulate the value and ROI of proposed product or service enhancements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and facilitating consensus among stakeholders and leadership for informed decision-making.
- Support initiatives to improve user adoption of digital products and services by developing targeted training programs and comprehensive communication strategies that empower users and drive engagement.
- Continuously evaluate new product feature releases, thoroughly assess their organizational and platform impacts, and proactively partner with Cybersecurity teams to identify and mitigate data security and protection vulnerabilities, ensuring a secure and resilient digital environment.
What you bring
- 7+ years of hands-on technical delivery and daily operations management experience with Microsoft M365 platforms, including Copilot, Copilot Studio, Agent development/deployment, Share Point and One Drive, overseeing daily operations, feature deployments, and system optimizations in enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated success in managing M365 applications and leading the full lifecycle delivery of new products and major feature launches, from planning through deployment and post-launch optimization.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading and executing change management initiatives for Microsoft 365 ensuring seamless transitions, user adoption, and no disruption to business operations.
- Experience overseeing license management for cloud-based productivity platforms, including tracking usage, optimizing allocations, and ensuring compliance within enterprise environments.
- Exceptional critical thinking, organizational and troubleshooting skills, demonstrated by successfully leading the timely resolution of major incidents and outages in complex enterprise environments.
- Proven experience implementing and managing sensitivity labels and DLP, ensuring secure classification and handling of sensitive information for data protection and ensuring regulatory compliance across the M365 platform.
Added bonus if you have
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Graph / PowerShell scripting, Entra App Registration, and user identity / authentication to automate, integrate, secure, and manage enterprise M365 environments.
- Experience in leveraging Microsoft Copilot and AI-powered tools and agents to automate routine tasks and accelerate workflow execution in the corporate environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office deployment, patching, and updating, including managing large-scale rollouts, ensuring timely application of security patches, and maintaining up-to-date installations across multi-platform enterprise environments.
- Power BI dashboard development for project and KPI visualization, including designing and implementing interactive reports that provide real-time insights into project status, key performance indicators, and operational trends.
