We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex accounting challenges. This role will lead and scale our revenue accounting function in a fast-growing software and fintech environment while being a key partner in Finance, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, strong internal controls, and compliance with ASC 606 while supporting new product launches and business models.

About This Role (Responsibilities)

As a Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting, you will play a key role in managing and optimizing Toast’s global revenue accounting processes. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Finance, Billing Operations, and Enterprise Applications to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in revenue recognition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of revenue accountants and revenue recognition under ASC 606 for SaaS, and fintech offerings, including multi-element arrangements and usage-based pricing

  • *Lead monthly and quarterly revenue close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, *design, define, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the revenue accounting function, including revenue accuracy, close cycle time, end-to-end reconciliations.

  • Manage and develop a team of revenue accountants; provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback

  • Partner with global stakeholders across the US and India, ensuring seamless revenue operations and governance;

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Legal, and Finance partners to review contracts, process changes, and new product launches

  • Evaluate and document accounting implications for new revenue streams, partnerships, and go-to-market initiatives

  • Maintain and enhance revenue accounting procedures, and internal controls

  • Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors on revenue-related matters

  • Drive process improvements and automation across revenue accounting systems and tools

  • Support the design, implementation, and execution of key revenue controls and system enhancements within Net Suite and Zoura.

  • Participate in system migration, automation, and integration initiatives in partnership with the business systems team.

  • Identify and execute opportunities for continuous process improvement to enhance accuracy and efficiency across revenue workflows.

***Do You Have the Right Ingredients? (Requirements)*Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CA preferred

  • 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including deep revenue accounting expertise

  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and SaaS / fintech revenue models

  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams

  • Background in public accounting and/or high-growth technology companies strongly preferred

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with incomplete information

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical accounting concepts to non-accounting partners

  • Experience with large-scale transaction volumes and complex billing structures

In 6–12 months, you will:

  • Reduce revenue close timelines

  • *Improve revenue procedures *

  • Scale systems to support growth

  • Enable faster product launches with revenue-ready frameworks

Special Sauce (Preferred Qualifications)

*Experience with *SQL/Sequel.
Experience in system implementation, process automation, or ERP migration projects.
