Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

• Maintains and repairs all conveyor, sortation, and related material handling equipment: heating; HVAC, simple plumbing and/or other specialized areas to ensure proper, safe, and efficient mechanical operations within the distribution center. Installs new or modifies existing equipment or systems.
• Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment to include motors, pumps, conveyers, hydraulics, mechanical control systems, power equipment, safety devices, or other specialized equipment. Examines parts and equipment to troubleshoot and perform repairs on simple plumbing, heating, etc. Inspects completed repairs or installations.
• Performs special projects or duties as assigned.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

• High school diploma or equivalent plus vocational training in a related technical field. Proven knowledge and experience in one or more areas (welding, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
• One to two years experience in Industrial Maintenance field with demonstrated preventative maintenance experience in material handling systems. Proven proficiency in one or more of the following areas: Welding/Fabrication, HVAC/Refrigeration, Plumbing, Hydraulics and Mechanical Drive Systems. Willingness to work various shifts to meet business needs.
• Ability to read and follow simple diagrams and instructions.
• Must have working knowledge of electricity and electrical components in order to perform their job in a safe and efficient manner.
• Position requires manipulation of parts and the use of various tools and repair equipment. Body positioning such as climbing and crawling under equipment or apparatus to repair, assemble or disassemble equipment is necessary.
• Must have tolerances and ability to work under adverse conditions.

This position has a starting pay range of $29.85 to $33.87 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
