About the Team

As a Data Scientist in Tik Tok's Trust and Safety team, you will be instrumental in ensuring that Tik Tok remains a safe, trustworthy, and risk-free environment. By implementing your domain knowledge, you will help diagnose, triage, and treat large-scale safety issues. You will scope out projects, use ground-truth data to inform strategies, and use data and insights to form best-in-class heuristics to proactively detect and disarm safety incidents. You will partner with a variety of stakeholders across the product, operations, policy, and engineering teams - both locally and globally.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business development both short-term and long-term through in-depth business analysis, industry studies and the study of market trends
  • Refine and upgrade the content safety system for globalised products, build data solutions to aid the management of a large-scaled operation team
  • Utilise a comprehensive understanding of content safety and develop strategies through various operational data analysis, empowering scenarios such as resource allocation, cost management, personnel management, output efficiency management, and output quality management. In addition, abstract reusable analytical methodologies and tools
  • Collaborate closely with the global Trust and Safety team, proactively providing insights and recommendations, driving the implementation of data analysis value, and overseeing the macro direction of the business

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in mathematics or statistics-related majors, with a solid foundation in statistical and data mining theories
  • Proficient in data analysis and statistical analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, Excel, and Tableau
  • 3-5 years of data scientist experience, with a deep understanding of Operations or Quality Management in globalised products
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional and global teams, communicating across effectively and efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Acute ability to grasp company product-related industry technology development trends, and possess strong macro analysis and decision-making capabilities
  • Experience in platform content safety and large-scale outsourcing team data operations and coordination is preferred
  • Your ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role
  • Your resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role
