Thomson Reuters helps professionals make confident decisions by delivering trusted content and technology. Within our customer-facing onboarding and implementation teams, we partner closely with clients to ensure they adopt our products smoothly, realize value quickly, and get the right technical foundation in place from day one.
We're hiring a Technical Onboarding Advocate to support the planning, scheduling, and delivery of customer onboarding and implementation projects. You'll act as a key point of coordination for technical onboarding activities - liaising with customers, tracking tasks through backend systems (including Certinia), and providing hands-on installation and early configuration support across the Digita suite. You'll work alongside Product Onboarding Advocates and cross-functional teams (Support, Sales, Licensing, and Migration) to coordinate and deliver onboarding projects.
This is a practical, customer-facing technical role requiring strong Microsoft environment knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects with care and urgency.
About the role:
As our Technical Onboarding Advocate, you will:
- Support the Product Onboarding Advocate by managing, scheduling, and coordinating customer onboarding and implementation projects.
- Liaise directly with customers to gather requirements, plan onboarding activities, and facilitate implementation needs.
- Use Certinia and other backend systems to accurately track project tasks, progress, and key actions.
- Collaborate with Support, Sales, Licensing, and Migration teams to ensure projects move forward on time and respond to enquiries as needed.
- Provide installation services across the Digita suite of products.
- Deliver installations using tools such as Go ToAssist and/or Web Ex.
- Install and configure required technical components, including: installation of the latest version of SQL Server and activation of Digita Virtual Office (Citrix-based cloud application)
- Advise internal stakeholders and clients on technical and environmental requirements to successfully run the Digita product suite (with a focus on Microsoft environments).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues raised during implementation, diagnosing root cause and guiding the client to resolution.
- Undertake basic software setup and configuration with the client during onboarding.
- Produce clear written documentation and step-by-step instructions for clients.
- Keep up to date with changes to the Digita suite and related technologies to provide accurate guidance to customers and internal teams.
- Provide structured feedback to the Professional Services team on opportunities to improve client engagement and onboarding effectiveness.
About you:
To be our Technical Onboarding Advocate, you will likely have:
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft environments.
- Experience installing and supporting software in customer environments.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server installation (and the ability to support customers through typical setup and connectivity requirements).
- Familiarity with Citrix-based applications/environments
- Comfortable working with professional services and project workflows, including accurate tracking of tasks using systems like Certinia.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical requirements clearly to non-technical users.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset: able to diagnose issues methodically and drive resolution during onboarding.
- Proven ability to work well as part of a team and also take initiative when working independently.
