How You Will Make an Impact

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Patheon Softgels B.V. manufactures pharmaceutical and nutritional softgel products for global customers from our 24/7 Tilburg facility.

As a Supply Chain Supervisor, you play a key role in ensuring reliable and efficient “Make-to-Order” operations. You’ll lead a team responsible for planning, purchasing, and production support activities that directly impact our delivery performance and customer satisfaction. Through your leadership you help drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and collaboration across functions.

What You Will Do

Lead Daily Supply Chain Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day planning, procurement, and order management activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of sales orders, work orders, and purchase orders.
  • Monitor material availability, production schedules, and capacity to prevent delays.
  • Escalate risks and propose corrective actions to maintain OTIF delivery performance.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop Planner/Buyers.
  • Promote a culture aligned with Thermo Fisher’s 4i Values.
  • Assign priorities and balance workloads to meet operational goals.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance discussions, and training.

Support S&OP and Tier Processes

  • Prepare operational data for Tier 2/3 meetings and short-term S&OP cycles.
  • Track planning performance against forecast and capacity expectations.
  • Identify constraints and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve them.

Supplier & Inventory Coordination

  • Monitor stock levels and ensure effective replenishment of raw materials and components.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve operational issues.
  • Support global procurement in executing purchasing strategies.
  • Minimize scrap and prevent excess inventory through proactive planning.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Coordinate planning and material readiness for new product launches and changes.
  • Ensure timely availability of master production documents and raw materials.

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Identify improvement opportunities in planning, procurement, and production support processes.
  • Contribute to OE initiatives that strengthen efficiency, compliance, and service levels.
  • Ensure activities align with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Keys to Success

Education / Experience

  • Advanced Degree, no prior experience required, or Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of experience in Materials or Manufacturing Planning/Scheduling, preferably in pharmaceutical or life sciences industry
  • Experience in planning, purchasing, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading or coaching team members is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating
  • Procedures Strong focus on continuous improvement and proactive issue resolution.
  • Fluency in English required
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Risk management and decision-making expertise
  • Process improvement mindset with ability to challenge status quo
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
