You will be working in a sophisticated and constantly evolving environment, facilitating processes between Manufacturing & Field Services engineers, providing technical support to the factory and solving complex problems, to ensure the system specifications are met to the customers' satisfaction. The primary focus of this role is to provide the factory with technical expertise and practical solutions in high-vacuum (HV) related technology, aiming for structural improvements. Last but not least you will help tackle customer related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • What will you do?
  • Providing technical support to the factory, to ensure the shipping of high-quality systems to our customers, by solving challenging problems and ensuring system specifications are met.
  • Performing hands-on assembly (incidental), testing, trouble shooting and training of personnel in vacuum routine and clean working.
  • Supporting factory and field service engineers with first builds, installs and upgrades of newly introduced modules to ensure accurate working order and knowledge transfer.
  • Creating and maintaining work instructions and defining way of working (factory process flow).
  • Develop domain expertise on microscope components.
  • Supporting the supply chain with engineering (vacuum) expertise, including quality issues and specific tooling.
  • Prepare, submit and drive engineering changes to improve quality, manufacturability and cost.

How will you get there? (Education and experience):

  • Demonstrable experience in the field of vacuum engineering in a dynamic production environment. Knowledge and/or experience in the field of (ultra) high vacuum systems is huge plus. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in this area is advised.
  • A Bachelor/Master of Science degree in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering or Physics is required, or a combination of an equivalent engineering education and relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrate to be hands-on in Helium leak detection, HV design principles, vacuum pumping concepts, HV measurement techniques and clean working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with Statistical Engineering would be highly beneficial.
  • Be able to create user documentation and engineering reports in English.
  • Experience in managing small sized improvement projects.
  • Excellent communication & social skills, great teammate.
  • Excellent English language skills (verbal and in writing), Dutch is a huge plus.
