  • Challenge assumptions constructively, pushing for disciplined decision-making and operational accountability.
  • Leverage ChatGPT and AI-assisted analysis to accelerate insight generation, scenario testing, and communication clarity across finance and cross-functional partners.

Financial Management & Performance Analytics

  • Lead monthly business reviews, synthesizing financial insights into succinct, actionable narratives.
  • Drive standardization and speed in reporting, forecasting, and KPI tracking.
  • Elevate gross margin analysis, product mix understanding, and pricing/volume/margin decomposition.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards that improve visibility, self-service reporting, and proactive performance management.

Operational Execution

  • Strengthen forecasting processes by improving data quality, cadence, and cross-functional alignment with Commercial, Operations, Product Management and R&D.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations Finance to understand COGS, manufacturing variances, and inventory implications.
  • Improve financial controls and support audit, compliance, and SOX requirements.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage and develop a financial analyst in support of total PPA FP&A consolidations.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across Thermo Fisher's matrix to align business unit finance with divisional and group objectives.
  • Champion adoption of Power BI, GenAI, and modern analytics practices within the PPA finance team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally within life sciences, tools, diagnostics, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong technical skills in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
  • Clear communicator who can simplify complexity and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed organization with shifting priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA.
  • Experience supporting product-driven businesses with complex portfolios.
  • Familiarity with Hyperion/Oracle and financial consolidation/reporting tools.
  • Hands-on experience using AI/GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) for analytics, automation, or enhanced business communication.
  • Track record of implementing process upgrades or analytics improvements.

Personal Attributes

  • Highly analytical, skeptical of weak assumptions, and comfortable challenging the status quo.
  • Practical, solutions-oriented, and able to translate insights into action.
  • Collaborator who builds trust quickly and communicates with clarity.
  • Curious, technology-forward mindset with a willingness to adopt and champion modern analytics and AI tools.
