Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger functions.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to support career growth, team performance, and succession planning.
• Manage and complete the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure the integrity of data.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and US GAAP across all transactions and reporting activities.
• Coordinate the revenue recognition process in accordance with accounting standards and Thermo Fisher Accounting Policy.
• Manage all government remittances, including GST/HST, and other required filings.
• Review OCOGS accounts to validate accuracy and accurate classification of transactions.
• Coordinate annual updates of standard costs by the Operations team, and review DL/OH rates for accuracy and changes.
• Participate in the evaluation, implementation, and integration of financial systems and process improvements.
• Collaborate on projects and ad-hoc initiatives to support business goals.

Compensation

The salary range estimated for this position based in Canada is $76,400.00–$110,000.00.
