Job Description

Through Unity Lab Services, we offer integrated lab services, support, and supply management with customized service offerings to address our customers' unique laboratory business needs. Our inventory coordinators use data analytics and planning tools to optimize supply chain performance, ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time.

A Day in the Life

  • Analyze data and make recommendations to achieve profitability, customer service, and inventory goals
  • Develop and maintain site-specific metrics to ensure inventory plans are achieved
  • Identify and craft new planning tools in conjunction with the supply chain team; implement changes resulting from analysis
  • Analyze, monitor, and update supplier and transport lead-times
  • Coordinate, approve, and process annual physical inventory and quarterly cycle counts
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies
  • Provide inventory management support for all customer and affiliate sites
  • Provide strategic mentorship to management on supply chain optimization
  • Write work instructions or procedures and conduct training
  • May perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Keys to Success

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree or certification in inventory management, supply chain, or related field a plus.

Experience

2-4 years' experience in inventory planning, supply chain, or related function. Laboratory setting experience preferred. GLP/GMP experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio or other data mining tools preferred
  • Familiarity with inventory control methods and lean methodologies preferred
  • Effective communicator, adaptable to operational changes, and passionate about quality, efficiency, and problem-solving
  • Flexibility with hours and ability to travel overnight if required

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Hybrid role - primarily remote with occasional on-site work at customer locations and office environments. Personal protective equipment, such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, and steel-toe shoes, may be required when visiting certain areas.
