The job:

We are looking for a Laboratory Engineer to join our laboratory operations in Umestan, Umeå. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing company where you will play a key role in supporting and improving our value stream as part of our cross-functional support team.

In this position, you will drive technical development, ensure equipment reliability, and lead or participate in cross-functional projects to implement new technologies — from User Requirement Specification (URS) through validation and full implementation.

You will report to the Head of Supply Chain and be based at our Umeå office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative technologies to enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness

• Develop User Requirement Specifications (URS) and actively contribute to investment and development projects

• Perform preventive maintenance and service activities in accordance with established plans and guidelines

• Optimize and continuously improve existing laboratory equipment

• Support laboratory operations by driving improvements and resolving technical deviations

• Conduct FMEA and risk assessments

• Collect and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities

• Perform technical validation of equipment

• Ensure availability of critical spare parts

• Maintain close communication with equipment suppliers and technology partners

Qualifications:

• University degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline within Life Sciences, or equivalent experience gained through professional work

• Experience in technical roles and laboratory environments is considered an advantage

• Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken

• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
