Position Purpose:
The Director of Learning Delivery leads a portion of the Home Depot University team of Instructors located across the country who deliver both in-person and virtual instruction. The position will ensure a high quality of facilitation by the team, as well as ensuring the trainers stay relevant with emerging content areas and evolving facilitation needs. In addition, the position works closely with Directors of Learning Strategy, the Director of learning content Design and Development, other key leadership roles within the Learning team, as well as maintaining connectivity with key field operational and human resources leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- 30% Develop strong working relationships with the Director of Solutions and the Senior Director of Design in order to ensure that Learning initiatives are completed with quality in a timely manner. Work closely with the field HRVPs to ensure high levels of learning support and service to the divisions. Manage the delivery and execution of all current Learning projects to ensure that associates receive high quality training in a timely and efficient manner.
- 30% Oversee forms management which includes the production, storage, and shipping of all learning documents for the organization. Manage desktop publishing and final editing process for all learning programs. Ensure that all materials and programs are 'field ready' before they go into production. Manage field-based learning projects such as training related to software updates, and systems/process changes.
- 30% Oversee the execution of field specialty colleges and other specific hourly training classes. Ensure that the Master Trainers have the tools and resources required to execute curriculum with a high level of quality. Oversee the execution of Home Depot University (salaried leadership training programs) in the field and at the SSC. Ensure that all leaders attend the required training for their position. Ensure that field faculty is trained and that all classes are delivered with a high level of quality.
- 10% Solicit feedback from the field to ensure that learning programs and delivery meet the needs of the business and achieve the desired results. Instill a high level of customer service in the learning delivery team.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Position Reports to Vice President of Learning or Sr Director Learning
- Direct and indirect reports typically include up to 4 managers/supervisor, 6 staff associates, 19 Regional Learning managers, and 60 Master Trainers
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ten to fifteen years of experience in the learning facilitation space, including leading teams of decentralized trainers.
- Experience in retail leadership, retail operations, and retail selling is preferred.
Minimum Education:
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Minimum Years of Work Experience:
- 8
Competencies:
- Organization Development / Organization Effectiveness Consulting is highly desirable
