Position Purpose:
Provides operational and administrative support to the Chief Pilot on all day-to-day matters to include pilot scheduling, office invoice inquiries, vendor relations and negotiations, expense report review/ approval, standardization conformity flight checks and performance evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:- 15% Function as Pilot in Command on Home Depot aircraft for the purpose of maintaining a high degree of technical competence and awareness of safe aircraft operations, anywhere in the world that includes the United States, Canada, Mexico and other international destinations.
- 15% Must be able to fully perform all flight related duties. Provide guidance to flight personnel to assure safe, efficient and coordinated use of corporate aircraft.
- 15% Responsible for the conduct of safe flight operations and the compliance of all applicable FAA regulations, as well as internal Home Depot policies.
- 15% Serves as Senior Captain (flight responsibilities)
- 10% Fill Chief Pilot's role during that person's absence
- 10% Perform administrative support functions, pilot scheduling, invoicing, expense report, etc.
- 10% Contribute to the promotion and development of the department safety culture and management programs.
- 10% Select, develop, and motivate assigned staff
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:- Position reports to the Chief Pilot - Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
Travel Requirements:- Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.
Physical Requirements:- Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
Working Conditions:- Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. - Must meet many, simultaneous demands for important decisions/actions and face some confrontations or other difficult situations and demands for results.
Minimum Qualifications:- Must be eighteen years of age or older. - Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:- Certified Aviation Manager (CAM)
Minimum Education:- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Certifications:- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate; FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate; Type Rated in at least two corporate jet aircraft.
Competencies:- A complete understanding of customer service skills, and an indepth safety background - Effective communication skills.
- General business familiarity of department budgets.
- Polished organizational skills.
- The ability to work with and lead a group of highly technical and detail orientated associates.
