Registered Nurse (RN) Neonatal ICU/NICU PRN II

  • Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132
  • Mother friendly designated, a Texas 10-Step designated, and a Magnet designated facility
  • Work hours: PRN Level II: On an as needed basis (7PM-7AM) – Minimum of 3 shifts per 6-week schedule, 1 Weekend shift per 6-week schedule, and 1 major & 1 minor holiday shift per year; During Training – prefer 2 shifts per week

Neonatal ICU/NICU Department highlights:

· Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

  • Our team is like a family with a newly expanded Level III Neonatal ICU/NICU unit with 16-beds – utilizing CPAP, Bubble CPAP, vents, & oscillators and working with Feeders/Growers as well

Here’s What You Need:

· Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required

· BSN is preferred

· One-year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) Required

· One year of Neonatal ICU/NICU Level III RN experience strongly preferred.

· RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required

· BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

· NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required

· NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required

· CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained 90 days

What You Will Do:

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

· Assesses the patient

· Plans the care of the patient

· Intervenes as appropriate

· Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

· Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

· Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

· Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
