Fueling the continued success of one of the world’s most beloved brands is Target’s Guest Engagement organization — a creative, insight-driven team focused on inspiring and surprising guests. We deeply understand our guests and business priorities, translating insights into meaningful interactions that build long-term loyalty and brand love.

Within the Loyalty team, you will lead enterprise strategy for Target Circle promotional events and priority audience plans, driving measurable guest and business impact. This role sits at the center of enterprise collaboration — connecting Marketing, Merchandising, Digital and Experience teams to deliver integrated, guest-centric activations that advance both program and enterprise goals.

As the Sr. Strategy & Marketing Lead, Loyalty, you will shape the annual promotional event roadmap and verified audience strategy for Target Circle. You will define how, when and where we show up for guests across key moments, ensuring each activation is grounded in guest insight, business ambition and performance rigor.

You will lead highly visible initiatives from strategic development through activation, influencing partners across Marketing, Digital, UX, Creative and Analytics. Success in this role requires strong strategic vision, analytical depth and executive presence to align stakeholders, clarify priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.

On any given day, you may develop enterprise-level recommendations, evaluate financial trade-offs, define audience and offer strategy, or guide cross-functional teams through complex, multi-channel execution. Your ability to set clear direction, build alignment and translate insights into impact will be essential.

Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise strategy for Target Circle promotional events and verified audience plans, translating loyalty ambition and business priorities into insight-led, guest-centric marketing strategies that drive engagement and incremental growth.

  • Own end-to-end event marketing strategy, aligning Loyalty, Merchandising, Digital, Stores, Media and Creative partners to deliver seamless, connected guest experiences across channels and touchpoints.

  • Define and evolve verified audience activation strategy, setting marketing priorities and measurement standards to increase relevance, personalization and ROI.

  • Establish clear strategic direction and briefs for major events and audience activations, articulating objectives, value proposition, audience definition and success metrics to enable strong creative and channel execution.

  • Champion data-informed decision making, leveraging guest insights, performance results and incrementality measurement to continuously optimize event structure, offer strategy and communication plans.

  • Drive cross-functional orchestration and accountability across key promotional moments, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, investment and performance outcomes.

  • Identify white space and scale opportunities that advance Target Circle engagement, deepen verified audience relationships and contribute to enterprise revenue and loyalty growth.

About You

Minimum Requirements

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of progressive experience within marketing or strategy development roles

  • Demonstrated ability to develop insight-led marketing strategies that translate business and Target Circle ambitions into measurable plans that drive engagement and incremental growth

  • Experience leading complex, cross-channel initiatives from strategy through execution, delivering results on time and within investment parameters

  • Proven ability to influence and drive alignment across highly matrixed teams without direct authority

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to translate data and insights into concise, persuasive recommendations

  • Comfort operating in a performance-driven environment, using measurement and incrementality to inform decisions and optimize future plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading large-scale promotional events or loyalty-driven activations with enterprise impact

  • Deep understanding of audience segmentation, personalization strategy and verified audience frameworks

  • Proven ability to define measurement strategies, including incrementality and performance readouts, to inform optimization and future investment decisions

  • Experience influencing senior leaders and shaping strategic direction across Marketing, Merchandising, Digital and Operations partners
