Senior Software Engineer II - Cloud SOAR, Cyber Security

Sumo Logic's Cloud SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) platform enhances security operations by automating and orchestrating workflows across diverse security tools and systems. Sumo Logic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud SOAR team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our cutting-edge cloud-based SOAR solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Development: Architect, design, and implement scalable and reliable cloud-based SOAR solutions that meet the highest standards of software quality and performance.

• Cybersecurity Expertise: Utilize your expertise in cybersecurity to develop advanced threat detection, response, and automation capabilities within our SOAR platform.

• Collaboration: Work closely with product management, architects, and other engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality features.

• Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in cloud security and SOAR technologies. Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

• Customer Focus: Engage with customers to understand their needs and challenges, translating them into effective technical solutions.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Ops/SRE and customer success teams to ensure timely responses and resolutions to customer escalations and production issues.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering,

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), programming languages (Python, Java, Go, etc.). Preferred to have experience in working in Cyber Security related technologies like SIEM/SOAR.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.

• Agile Development: Experience with Agile development methodologies and practices.

• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Customer Orientation: Experience in working directly with customers to gather requirements, provide support, and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
