What you will do

Taxation Strategy
-
To contribute to business performance through effective Tax planning and strategies which are aligned to overall business strategies

Provide internal tax advisory services and support on business operation matters
-
Identify potential opportunities or issues pro-actively in order to take advantage of or resolve them with key depts. in the organization & tax departments

To resolve major operational issues in a timely way and identify improvements, including initiation and management of issues

Lead and coordinate tax-driven business initiatives
-
Support Group Tax in Tax Optimization Projects

Litigation Management
-
Management of litigation at various forums
-
Tax Litigation preparation & representation of appeals including at CIT (A), DRP & ITAT levels.

Monthly tax litigation status and reporting
-
Coordination of 3rd party service providers, legal counsels and service delivery management including performance KPIs

Optimisation of litigation costs

Tax Compliances
-
Lead tax compliances as a whole with all direct and indirect tax laws so as to ensure risk free environment for the business.

Own Compliance audits and drive the compliance culture
-
Preparation & Review of tax calculations, estimates and report accruals

Tax compliance health checks & taking correcting actions
-
Ensuring all returns are filed and payments are made on time with no defaults

Major applicable Laws: Customs, GST, Income Tax including Transfer Pricing, STPI, SEZ/FTZ, FEMA
Tax Accounting & Controls
- Plan and coordinate for periodic closing for Tax accounting and reporting purposes as per the reporting requirements- Both statutory and group requirements
- Ensure effective and sustainable implementation of Sox/ICFR Controls compliance & SoD Controls related to Tax, partnering with Controlling & Process team.
- Ensure that all the tax related accounting transactions are entered in the system to ensure real time accounting and set up effective documentation system for maintaining the effective working papers relating to tax , Tax assessments etc. and as well visualize and plan the tax assessment requirements and for appeals
- Setting up guidelines for BPO partners for accounting of taxes and ensuring compliance
- GL owner for Tax related accounts, Review and sign off on the taxation related assets, liabilities & accruals, Monthly reconciliation of tax related balance sheet accounts
- Coordinate with the tax auditors (Tax Audits, Transfer pricing etc) to make audit plan in consultation with various departments/ locations and ensure audit is completed in time with no serious concerns.
- Generate and circulate quality MIS as per requirements for supporting the Business decisions and compliance adherence
What do you need: -
- Should have 5 plus Years of post-qualification experience
- Should be a Chartered Accountant
- Should be a subject matter expert in taxation
- Should have top notch Communication & Presentation skills
- Should possess a good business acumen, be detail oriented, pro-active & result oriented
