State Street Investment Management’s (“State Street IM”) Global Funds Management (“GFM”) team drives sound fund oversight programs across the firm’s funds and services. GFM’s Account Opening & Maintenance Team (“AOM”) needs an AOM Oversight Analyst who will be responsible for managing foreign market sub-account openings, maintenance, and renewals for State Street IM’s funds. Foreign market sub-accounts must be opened for Portfolio Managers to trade within a market(s).

Key responsibilities include, though not limited to:

  • Complete country-specific requirements to open sub-accounts in foreign markets while adhering to each market’s regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of global custodian market networks and country-specific requirements.
  • Awareness and understanding of State Street IM’s fund launches and initiatives that drive the need for new or updates to existing sub-accounts.
  • Be the “sub-account” expert to internal business partners by communicating various market requirements and sub-account opening timelines in support of SSIM’s global strategy.
  • Manage ad-hoc sub-account maintenance tasks such as renewals, fund name changes, etc.
  • Respond to foreign regulator requests, questions and on-going changes to requirements, including beneficial ownership validation, reporting, and account reviews.
  • Collaborate with State Street IM’s custodian on all account opening and maintenance requests and monitor that service levels meet expectations.
  • Create and maintain procedures making sure there’s alignment with internal governance, business controls and risk tolerance, including regular procedure reviews to identify gaps, opportunities for improvement and/or automation.

Job Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years experience in the securities, financial services industry, or investment operations.
  • Previous experience working with global custodian networks and familiarity with sub-account opening procedures in local markets is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of 40 Act ETFs and Mutual Funds, Collective Investment Trusts and Common Trust Funds. SICAV and UCITs experience is helpful.
  • Self-starter with exemplary time management skills, extreme attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines on a regular basis.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity and sound judgment, with a keen focus on creating and following procedures, documentation, and internal governance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate across all levels.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word.

Salary Range:

$60,000 - $101,250 Annual
