Who we are looking for

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Senior IT Leader to oversee from concept to production innovative initiatives in the Data Intelligence space that support our strategic business objectives. This position requires in depth technical knowledge on software architecture concepts, financial research methodologies and advanced algorithms integration from AI domain.

This is a highly visible leadership role that directly contributes to long‑term client outcomes and the firm’s broader data and analytics strategy.

What you will be responsible for

  • Own and drive the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics and machine‑learning solutions using State Street’s proprietary data assets.
  • Provide strategic and people leadership to DI teams
  • Partner closely with technology, research, product, and business teams to scale DI platforms, APIs, and client-facing analytics.
  • Act as a senior escalation point and trusted advisor for stakeholders, communicating analytical insights, product roadmap, and delivery progress to senior management and clients.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and a strong engineering and data culture across regions.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • Deep and broad expertise in Computer Science and Software Engineering, including modern architectural principles, design patterns, tools, and best practices.

  • Experience designing and successfully delivering client-facing, preferred cloud‑based data products and/or web applications.

  • Strong background with hands-on experience in data science, analytics, and data visualization, with a clear understanding of how these capabilities translate into differentiated client values.

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering innovative, enterprise‑scale technology solutions that address complex business and operational challenges.

  • Experience leading and mentoring global engineering teams, including teams distributed across regions and time zones.

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence at the executive level, align diverse stakeholders, and drive consensus across business and technology partners.

  • Solid understanding of and in-depth exposure to Generative AI and modern UI technologies including Generative UI, and their practical applications in data products and platforms.

  • A results‑oriented mindset with a strong commitment to quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Experience developing AI/ML systems at scale in production or in high-impact research environments.

  • Proficiency in natural language processing, especially in LLMs and Generative AI systems.

  • Strong coding and software engineering skills, and experience with software engineering principles around testing, code reviews and deployment.

  • Advanced knowledge of distributed data solutions and computation frameworks.

  • Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in data science, quantitative research, data analytics, or related leadership roles.

  • Master’ s or PhD degree in Computer Science or related field

Salary Range:

$170,000 - $282,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
