Your new team

The Middle Office team is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the trade confirmation, settlement, reconciliation investigation, IBOR integrity and ALERT maintenance processes for our EMEA aligned business. Products range includes Equities, Fixed Income, REPO, Clean Cash, NPV’s, Novations, Spot & Forward FX transactions, and Unitised Funds. Middle Office Transaction Management cooperates with Asset managers, Traders, Brokers and other counterparties.

Middle Office business unit in State Street is the link between Front Office Traders and Backstage of financial market. We sit in the center where our role is to support clients’ investments through confirmation and market settlement of the transactions made. It means we speak directly with “the street”: Investment Managers, Banks, Brokers, Custodians and other parties from around the globe. We have under the bonnet knowledge of full lifespan on investment – from client-driven execution through settlement on the financial markets, SWIFT know how and expertise inclusive. Our main duties comprise of supporting FX, Cash, Equity, Fixed Income, Money Market trades, showing how financial world is built in practise and offering a front row seats to observe it’s ever changing nature. Joining us means being part of real time investment operations, gaining unique perspective of financial markets. Middle Office suite of functions is diverse and so is our talent – you’ll be partnering with people, who are really into this.

Your new role As an Alpha Middle Office Senior Expert, Officer you will be:

  • Providing primary support for operational team (BAU) support, client onboarding and change related projects

  • Maintaining operations for all aspects of trade confirmation and settlement across multiple products (Forex Exchange, cash, equity, fixed income, money market and more)

  • Cooperating with clients, brokers, custodians, fund accountants, various internal stakeholders and other third parties

  • Acting as senior escalation point and subject matter expert for middle office related inquires

  • Managing direct risk factors (operational and financial) through claims management, investigation and ownership over remediation strategies

  • Playing key part in performance governance through KPI/KRI management, client relationship management (Service Level reviews)

  • Participating in new business on-boarding process

  • Solutioning third party claims management and liability recommendations for Senior Management

What we value

Required skills & experience:

  • Deep understanding of various financial instruments including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and structured products.

  • Proficiency in trade capture, trade confirmation, settlements, and reconciliation.

  • Knowledge of risk management principles and practices, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk.

  • Understanding of with transaction management infrastructure and interlinks (Bloomberg, CRD, DTCC, SWIFT.

  • Understanding of industry best practices and emerging trends in transaction management and middle office operations.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and coordinate with various departments (e.g., Front Office, IT, Compliance).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex transaction issues.

  • Strong client service orientation and the ability to handle client inquiries and issues professionally.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in mentoring or guiding junior analysts.

Skills that will be an asset in this role:

  • Familiarity with relevant financial regulations such as Dodd-Frank, EMIR, MiFID II, and other regional regulations.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, financial modeling, and the use of analytical tools.

  • Ability to create, analyze, and interpret reports, with proficiency in tools like Excel, VBA, SQL, and business intelligence software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) would be a nice to have

  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or similar, for automation and data processing tasks.

Work Requirement

  • The position requires office presence at least 3 days per week

  • Switch working hours - 9 AM - 7 PM

**Minimum Salary:**​

zł132 000 Annual

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.​

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.​

In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.​
