Who we are looking for

Reporting to the Head of State Street Markets, the Head of State Street Markets EMEA will work with global business leads to drive business growth in EMEA. In addition, this role will have oversight of all Markets businesses in the region which includes participating in development of business strategy, governance, and stakeholder engagement across the EMEA region. You will be accountable for executive oversight of the UK, EU and Middle Eastern Markets businesses, while driving growth, client impact, and risk excellence. You will shape the region’s Markets agenda, lead the expansion of our Middle East franchise, and represent the organization with senior executives, regulators, and clients. You will be an experienced and forward‑thinking executive, with deep regional Markets expertise and a track record of delivering strategic, commercial, and operational outcomes.

What you will be responsible for

As the Head of State Street Markets EMEA you will:

  • Develop business strategy in the region in conjunction with global business leads, as well as execute and oversee the governance for the EMEA Markets franchise.
  • Drive regional business plans, budgets, and growth initiatives aligned with global Markets business priorities.
  • Provide full executive oversight of the UK and EU Markets franchises, ensuring strong governance, commercial alignment, and regulatory engagement across both regions.
  • Grow and deepen State Street’s Markets franchise in the Middle East, accelerating commercial expansion, strengthening client relationships, and advancing regional strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee compliant, efficient, and resilient operating frameworks across all EMEA Markets entities.
  • Build and manage senior‑level relationships with regulators, boards, clients, and internal committees.
  • Ensure strong commercial outcomes through business development, client strategy, and revenue growth.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, conduct excellence, and operational transparency.
  • Lead senior leadership teams, ensuring effective talent development, succession, and organizational readiness.

What we value

This role requires executive leadership, presence and advanced managerial skills including:

  • Management of the financials of a business, coupled with risk and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with senior level staff, middle management, and support teams across the bank to as required to drive execution.
  • Effective engagement collaborating with senior management across the organization to drive Global Markets’ strategic initiatives forward.
  • Results-focused individual with persistence and patience necessary to work effectively with a variety of internal and external constituents to drive results.
  • Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills to help transform the organization.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant senior regional management positions within a regulated global financial institution
  • 15+ years of experience in Global Markets, banking, or financial services leadership.
  • Deep working knowledge of EMEA regulatory frameworks and legal entity governance.
  • Proven track record interacting directly with the regulators
  • Proven track record of internal stakeholder management required within a global organisation aligned by product & region
  • Demonstrable experience of hands-on program management and large-scale change initiatives including, but not limited to, regulatory change
  • Deep understanding of Global Markets operations, both on- and off-shore
  • Proven track record in constructive staff management inclusive of employee development/ career coaching
  • Knowledge of the EMEA regulatory landscapes and impact on governance of global markets products
