About the Role

The QA team is part of Charles River Development (CRD), a State Street company, delivering high‑quality, scalable solutions across CRD and CRPM platforms. This role focuses on automation leadership, quality engineering excellence, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Who We Are Looking For

An experienced Automation Engineering Lead (AVP level) with 15+ years of experience to provide senior leadership in QA automation and quality engineering. The role combines deep hands‑on automation expertise with the ability to influence teams, guide technical direction, and partner with Engineering and Product stakeholders.

This role scales QA effectiveness by strengthening automation practices, improving release confidence, and ensuring quality is embedded across the delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive QA automation strategy aligned with CRD and CRPM objectives

  • Lead design, evolution, and governance of UI and API automation frameworks

  • Provide technical leadership on automation best practices and quality standards

  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Architecture teams on quality expectations

  • Oversee test planning, risk assessment, and quality metrics

  • Review automation results and drive root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement

  • Mentor QA engineers to improve technical depth and execution quality

  • Support critical releases, complex issue analysis, and client‑impacting investigations

  • Ensure adherence to QA standards, SDLC controls, and audit/compliance requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in software QA with deep focus on automation

  • Strong hands‑on experience in UI and API automation

  • Proven experience designing and scaling automation frameworks

  • Strong understanding of TestNG, Cucumber, and BDD frameworks

  • Proficiency in Java

  • Strong manual testing, test strategy, and risk‑based testing experience

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum at scale

  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Performance testing experience

  • Experience testing large‑scale enterprise or financial platforms

  • Familiarity with Jira, test management tools, and quality metrics
