We're hiring Full-stack Software Developers to join our Enterprise Technology P&C Claims team. We're modernizing our claims platform from legacy systems to AWS-native and container-based architectures, and we need talented engineers. If you have strong fundamentals in software engineering and at least some of the skills below, you're likely a fit for our openings.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, and deploy software solutions across AWS and Open Shift (ROSA) platforms supporting customer and claim operations
  • Build and maintain integrations across our Claims ecosystem, including synchronous APIs and asynchronous/event-driven workflows (SNS/SQS)
  • Maintain and enhance microservices (Java/Spring Boot or Python) deployed to ROSA with a focus on reliability
  • Implement event-driven integration patterns and asynchronous workflows using AWS messaging services
  • Deploy and manage containerized services on Kubernetes/Open Shift (ROSA) with CI/CD orchestration
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using CloudWatch, Splunk, and Dynatrace
  • Write and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and secure-by-default configurations
  • Participate in legacy modernization efforts using strangler patterns and safe cutover strategies
  • Partner with product and operations teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor peers on best practice

Qualifications

Must Have Skills:

  • 2-5 years with software engineering fundamentals and full-stack thinking (you understand services, databases, APIs, and user interfaces)
  • Expert-level proficiency in at least one of: Java (Spring Boot) or Python
  • AWS proficiency across compute, data stores, and messaging services (Lambda, DynamoDB/RDS, API Gateway, SNS/SQS)
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems (reliability, failure modes, retries, idempotency, eventual consistency)
  • Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs with versioning and backward compatibility
  • Proficiency with containers and Kubernetes/Open Shift deployment concepts
  • Experience with event-driven integration patterns (queues/topics, DLQs, replay logic)
  • GitLab CI/CD experience with safe release and rollback strategies
  • Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) expertise
  • Ability to support production systems (debugging, log interpretation, incident triage)
